This is the sixth lesson in a series of 6 lessons to introduce year 7 to Science. This lesson is titled ‘Drawing graphs’ and allows students to learn how to draw graphs accurately. Depending upon whether students managed to get results from last lessons investigation you may want to extend this lesson further by getting them to draw graphs of their own results. This lesson is titled ‘Visiting Variables’ and guides students how to identify independent, dependent and control variables in different scenario’s. The presentation is self explanatory and there is a series of 4 slides that I print out and laminate to hand out as part of the lesson. The next lesson is ‘Investigations’

This is the second lesson in a series of 6 lessons to introduce year 7 to Science. This lesson is titled ‘Meet the Equipment’ and introduces common equipment in a Science lab, how to draw them and discusses choosing the right equipment for the job. The presentation is self explanatory and there is a worksheet to go with the lesson. The next lesson is ‘Using the Bunsen Burner’.

This is the fifth lesson in a series of 6 lessons to introduce year 7 to Science. This lesson is titled ‘Investigations’ and allows students to undertake an investigation early in the year. I have included an investiagtion title page for Y7,8,9,10 and 11 ( please look in the notes section at the bottom of the powerpoint to find out which is most suitable) . I have not included many details of the investigations as the point is for the students to do this for themselves. This may take 2 lessons depending upon the ability of the students in the class. This lesson is titled ‘Safety in Science’ and introduces science rules, the need to follow them and introduces the new style hazard symbols also. This is the third lesson in a series of 6 lessons to introduce year 7 to Science. This lesson is titled ‘Using the Bunsen Burner’ and names the different parts of the Bunsen Burner, Shows students how to safely use the Bunsen Burner and the difference between the safety flame and the heating flame. The presentation is self explanatory and there is a story card that i laminate to hand out as part of the lesson. The next lesson is ‘Visiting variables’
